Oh My Fucking God.
So, the people went on vacation. I emailed them on Wednesday (because they'd said they would get back to me on Tuesday) to remind them of the problem. They responded

"I am sorry for any confusion. This came back to us late Friday evening and was left outside by Fed Ex. Boy they upset me! We found it this morning outside and ruined.
Your sax has been shipped this morning. [snip]
I am VERY sorry for all of this."

HA HA! They fucked up and the original got ruined. The universe really does offer pay back sometimes. (btw, it was in a carrying case inside the box so it's not like the instrument itself coule really be ruined...)

Anyway, they sent the new one. Box said tenor. Feeling pleased, I went to the music store to purchase cork grease, books, etc. Got home. Opened it... they sent me the baby blue! I'm sorry, I just think that colour looks cheap and tacky, especially compared to the beautiful dark blue one I had ordered.

So, shall we see if they have patience to correct their mistake. They keep saying things like they have to answer 2600 emails a day. Now I know why! Because they don't know what the fuck they are doing. They tell me how many emails they have, how many sales they make, how the instrument was ruined, how they planned to charge the person in shipping who made the mistake...

And this bothers me. It's none of my business how they handle their business. I don't care. I don't want to have to care. The fact is, I ordered something, I should simply receive it. That's it. If there's a mistake, exchange it. I'm not trying to trick anyone. I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass. I'm not trying to get something for nothing. I know people are human and mistakes are made. As long as they are willing to take responsibility for it, why make a federal case out of it?

Assholes call places or go into stores all the time with problems and they always want to know how they will be compensated, how they can get more than just an exchange and a sorry, how they can make a buck off a screw-up or get something free and it's creating a world where companies feel it's our business to know what they're doing. I think it's a load of shit. It's one of those things in the world that just ticks me off.
