First of all, country music sucks. I can get behind a song or two here and there, but I'm sooo tired of it being overwhelming here. Someone was talking about how they sometimes get a good surprise band and when I thought about it, I realized all the really hyped bands here are Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, blah, blah... country! icky.

Secondly, we were talking about Sarah Waters. Why it didn't occur to me before I don't know, but I found her webpage. Well, 'found' is misleading. sarahwaters.com wasn't a big stretch of the imagination. LOL. Anyway, there is a fourth book slated for February 2006. YAY! Then I thought I'd read an interview for Fingersmith for the hell of it:

Question: We wouldn't dream of giving away any of the plot twists here - but did you cackle evilly to yourself as you thought of them? They're truly fiendish.

SW: I did indeed cackle evilly, and rubbed my hands in diabolical glee - all of that. And then, half-way through writing the book, I split up with my partner in a fairly traumatic way, and started weeping into my keyboard instead. And I did have the curious feeling, then, that my characters were all rubbing THEIR hands, looking at me and thinking, 'Heh heh, now it's your turn. Not so nice after all, is it?'

((Raise of hands... who else has been there? Their characters end up mocking them? Oh, it's so irritating.))

Question: And lastly – why should everyone buy Fingersmith?

SW: 500 pages of fraud, insanity, sex, violence, laughter and tears, for round about a tenner? You'd be a fool NOT to buy this book!

((I agree. Buy this book. {wink}))
