It's a mad mad mad mad mad world

larue916 took me to Young Dubliners playing at a local club. She was a little excited for me to meet her friend from work, AK, with whom she says I have much in common. Well, AK brought her best friend. larue916 introduced AK & I to each other, then AK turned and said "This is..." when the friend burst out "LAURA!" I looked at her a moment and then said "OH MY GOD!" It happened to be the girl who lived across the street from my family until after I had moved out! We played together as kids! Her sister was there too. It was quite a trip! She said to AK that she used to get us into trouble and I said "thanks for that" because back then, it was the only exposure I had to the outside world. She told me about this crazy band called the Sex Pistols - and later in life I learned who they were and just how awesome. Even though we weren't best friends, hre influence on me was definitely memorable.
btw, the Young Dubliners were awesome live and the opening band (local) Smackwater was also quite good.
Something about concerts that never ceases to amaze me; people who apologize for stepping on your toes or bumping into you when you are right up by the stage while it's approaching mosh conditions.
