Well, isn't this fun?

Last Saturday, I went to the Greek Festival with my husband, 17 month old baby, and my sister (the one I like) We had a great time and the thing I noticed most is that this thing has become incredibly popular since the last time I went about 5 years ago. It was pouring rain, and yet the tents were packed with people watching the traditional dancing, shopping the booths, and waiting in line for the food. Amazing.

When I went in about 1997 and again in 1998, there was one large tent with the food and on Saturday afternoon the wait in line was about 5 minutes. There was a row of five booths inside the hall which is beside the Greek temple where the festival is held annually. At that time, I took the offered tour of the temple, picked up a little pot that resembled an ancient pitcher, had a gyro, watched two dances (after which there would be an hour wait before the next performance), and went home.

This year went from one group of performers to the next, the music filling the huge tents constantly. The baby clapped along with everyone and tried dancing - a feat made difficult since one of us was holding her at all times.

Sunday and Monday we worked on moving into our house. We've retrieved the last of our boxes from Mom's and the only thing left at our old house is the vacuum and broom for last minute clean up since we plan to go back up and put some finishing touches on it next week.

Yesterday I had my niece over. I've been bombarding her with all the movies she's willing to watch (between our mile a minute chats, that is.) Last time she was over, I showed her Velvet Goldmine and Hard Core Logo. Hooked her on Velvet Goldmine (I'm so proud). Tuesday we managed to get in Suspicious River, Last Night, and Mallrats. I actually succeeded in unpacking several boxes in between the movies too. It was a fabulous day.
