What have I got to complain about?
May. 24th, 2007 01:42 pmI almost feel guilty at my luck. I certainly feel guilty that I ever find reason to complain.
the story
Prologue: Local paper has this contest. You look through the paper, find hidden pics, fill out form telling where pics are and drop off at the business of the month. I noticed this contest when we first moved into Midvale City, but didn't start entering until about 5 months ago.
Chapter: When hubby and I got married, we spent our first two nights here (in the Excalibur room). I really hoped that with our 10th approaching (30 May - Wednesday) that we'd get to stay there again (maybe King's Lodge this time. I mean, when you've been married 10 years, the idea of passing the night playing pool is less crazy). Unfortunately, the car broke down, plus between last month and this, we've had to register both cars with the state (plus required inspections. What a scam they've got going there, I tell ya!), blah blah... Savings gone as well as the extra money I normally would have been saving. We were a little bummed because we were thinking we'd have the money again starting next month, just not right now. Bummer, right?
Epilogue: So, do you know what the prize for that contest happens to be? One night at Castle Creek Inn. Do you know who just happened to win the drawing at the beginning of this month!? {points to self} YES! ME! I didn't know until the gift card arrived yesterday at which point we immediately made our reservations. Rapunzel's Tower happens to be available for our anniversary (Well, Tuesday actually, but that's Scott's weekend so it works out) so we get to go!!!
It's just such incredible luck I can't even believe it.
NOTICE Additionally, they're offering a new internet service in our neighbourhood... one of those bundle deals. If we drop our land line and internet in favour of their bundle, it will only cost an extra $10... which I compensated for by shopping for new car insurance that should save us almost $20. YAY. This is important to YOU because it means I'll be changing my email address next week. Watch out for that, okay? In the meantime, I do have this backup email I've been using more and more where I can always be reached whether I'm out of town or my internet service becomes defunct. Make a note ... velvettattoo (and to be sneaky, I'll not finish, but it's at gmail.com)
