behind on updating

snoweeSo, we finally did talk to live-in niece a couple weeks ago. Went well. We didn't get to talk to boyfriend until last Friday. Also seemed to go well, but the last two nights he has spent with his other friends and is supposedly spending his days looking for a job. I would believe it, but I know there were days Jessi thought he was looking for a job while she was at school but he was instead watching war programs on the History Channel. We shall see! We also told him if he doesn't find a job by summer he gets to mow the lawn for room and board. We used to pay Jessi for that job, but couldn't really afford to pay her for that anymore - or so we thought until a sparkly check came the next day.
We made it very clear that we just needed to see them working for a future and trying to progress towards eventual independence. I am sort of hoping that made BF see that he can't continue to procrastinate on finding a job instead of doing odd jobs for money every now and then.
Anyway, certain things in my situation have changed drastically. It has made me take stock and decide I am going to do one awesome thing every month for a year... and I only have a few days to figure out how I am going to make my mark this month!!
Oh, and I bought the cutest hat which I have actually worn (a big step for me. I have always always felt that women should wear hats more, but I didn't ever think I was cute enough to pull it off. I finally got past that!) and I got a great haircut yesterday. Color to come soon, then pics, I expect.
