snoweeHubby is having horrible dreams. V- is trying to be brave.
As for me, I close my eyes and see the flames. For some reason now I'm struck by just how silent it all is. I don't remember the fire alarm after initially waking up. I see it all vividly in my mind's eye, but I hear nothing. We run outside and again we're standing in front of the house - you can't see anything of the fire in back because it's too dark even to see smoke - and it's quiet. Lacking sound, movement, life - except for us, helpless. Never does the sound of a siren off in the distance sound like such a relief.
Cats seem to be adjusting to their temorary abodes slowly, but surely. Computer booted up this morning and all it had to say to me was "I was not shut down properly last time, dearie. The good news is, despite that, I still love you!"... Or at least, that's what I heard.
Have you checked your smoker detectors yet? Well, why not? Get on it now or you'll have to answer to ME!
