We went to the aquarium. It was already a bit of a bummer for V because there were so many people around the stingrays she didn't get to pet them (her main reason for going). As we left I decided we could buy her a toy. The gift shop is set up so poorly that there's no place to form a line at the register so we were standing between two displays. The woman at the counter finished and swung this huge "mom" bag on her shoulder, hitting V in the head. We maneuvered back as far as we could (about a foot) and I asked if she was okay, but V said nothing, just leaned into me. Next the same woman took her kid off the counter to put him on her hip and swung him so that his foot whacked V in the other side of the head! I said "hey" but she kept going like she hadn't heard me. I asked V if she was okay again and she nodded.

Well, we paid, then went to leave. Around the corner was the woman, trying to organize her everything-but-the-kitchen-sink bag and the kid was squirming. She looked terribly frazzled so I decided not to say anything.

As soon as we were in the car I ask V if she really was okay and she said yes. Hubby asked what's up. I started explaining as we drove through the parking toward the exit and as we get to the end of the aisle we see the woman coming out, carrying child (about 3 so why she even had a child so big on the counter is stupid to me anyway, but whatever) so I pointed and said "That lady" and just as I did, the kid threw up all over her.

I had to cover my mouth to keep from laughing - which I would have done freely except V was in the car, of course, and I am trying hard to be a good example.

I felt sorry for that kid (but had trouble mustering sympathy for her).
