Jun. 13th, 2006 06:02 pmThis isn't important, but I was going to point out with those pics that the dining table (you can only see a corner of it) was the first thing my grandparents bought when they came to America. They had sold everything for passage and had to buy that table at the local thrift shop, was quite old at that time. It's one of my favourite things. The only other thing that compares is I have my great great grandfather's pocket watch. My grandpa always used to tell me about how his grandfather bought it after "the war" and passed it down to him. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy keeping these heirlooms in the family. The table almost went back to the thrift shop a few years ago, but I said I wanted it. the pocket watch - well, I fought for that. I love heirloom pocketwatches...
