May. 17th, 2006 03:47 pmMy awesome sister bought me a family pass to the zoo for my b-day. We went this morning, taking Mom and that sister's son (whom my mother babysits while she and hubby are working). It was pretty cool. they've started fixing it up the last three years and this year they will open a huge Big Cat habitat... I'm very excited! Peacocks are fucking awesome. I forget this until we go to the zoo and see them strutting about, full feathered. BEAUTIFUL!!!
I don't mean to complain. I am an adult. I mean, I shouldn't care now that it is the first anniversary of my 30th birthday... but my mom still hasn't acknoledged it. At the zoo, she said it was a good investment that we got the pass and since we complained about money when the car broke down, I didn't want her to think I had blown it on a zoo pass so I pointed out that sister bought it for my birthday. It wasn't until hubby brought it up on the way home that I realized I said that to her and she still didn't say anything about my birthday. I don't know. I know she's having a little financial stress right now. They are fixing up and selling one of their properties so I know she's been saying that they're kind of tight until it sells, but a card? a phone call? An "oh right! Happy birthday." at the zoo?
Erm, since hubby had to point it out, I can't say I'm really upset about it. I mean, I must be a bit since it's bugging me now, but if it was really bugging me I would have been annoyed that day, right? Whatever. Now that I've vented it, I'm over it.
