snoweeI really really should have waited until I was awake and certain I said all I wanted to say, but I just sent off my own editorial. I wouldn't dream of doing an editorial on a normal basis because I don't want to look stupid, but when the desire to write the editorial won't let me dream, I guess I gotta do what I gotta do.
In response to 'BBBSA rule inexcusable', one reader represents a sickeningly
accepted viewpoint about homosexuals when she remarked that allowing
homosexuals to be mentors in Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is
inexcusable.
What is truly inexcusable is the accepted narrowminded idea that homosexuals
are molestors. Let's make this very clear. Molestors are molestors. I can
only assume BBBSA will continue to screen those desiring to be mentors to
weed out Catholic priests (and, let's face it, many other males in authority
positions who molest young boys) just as they attempt to weed out pedophiles
who molest children of the opposite sex.
Recent allegations against Catholic priests and, lest we forget, Bishops in
the LDS church and other religious groups, are NOT enough to cause alarm
unless you ignore the thousands of cases in this country where men molest
little girls and women molest young boys.
DAMMIT! And now I just read it to hubby and he pointed out a couple things I ought to have mentioned. Fuck me. Oh well.
