There are hundreds of dedicated Due South fans. Some write fic, make
graphics, have webpages, and some have all three! It's time to give
recognition for these devoted souls, so head to
http://www.snowees.net/awards and begin nominations, then pass it on!

-To maximize convenience, nominations may be made by email or using a fast
online form. Nominations made by email should include webpages and email
addresses where appropriate, but the webpage includes an easy cut/paste form
to assist.

-There are many categories including best author, best graphic, best
webpage,
and best zine. All parts of the fandom welcome!

-Tell A Friend service available at the Awards page makes passing on the
information quick and easy.

General information: To make nominations without having to visit the webpage
at all:
RULES:
1) You may nominate yourself and make as many nominations in each category
as you wish. In order to make multiple nominations in one category, you
will either have to revisit the page or send nominations by email.

2) All nominations must be available publicly on the web.

3) Zines may be nominated in the categories for zines only. Note that the
categories are very general. If many nominations are received, each category
will be broken into sub categories for voting and next year's awards will
provide more zine recognition.

4) Be prepared to provide story titles, author names & email, and webpage
information for each nomination. If they are not included the nomination is
subject to removal before voting begins.

5) Stories should be recognized by author under category nominated. In
other words, a story nominated as Alternative Universe must be labeled as
such by the author or I will make my own determination on it.

6) Categories with fewer than 3 nominations will be removed completely
before voting unless the nomination fits into another category.

7) If you do not wish to be included in these awards: Authors - wait until
you are contacted by me. Archivists - please email me at any time before
voting is completed.

DEADLINES:
Nominations - 14 March - 14 May, 2003
Prep time - 15 May - 22 May, 2003
Voting - 23 May - 23 June, 2003
Awards - 27 June, 2003

DEFINITIONS:
Nominations - There are four stages to the Serious Duck awards. First is
nominations. This is the period in which you may suggest work for voting.
Prep - This is important time necessary for setting up voting and contacting
nominees. The more information you can provide during nominations, the
faster this process will be. If you don't take a moment, I'll have to spend
hours and voting may be delayed!
Voting - Voting will be available either by email or using an online form.
Please vote only once as I will be watching ISP's. Details of fairness will
be provided in detail when voting begins.
Awards - This, the fourth and final stage, is when winners are announced and
graphics are provided to be kept or displayed proudly by the winners (we
hope).
Best Author - Should reflect best overall writer in the fandom.
Best Graphic - These may include art work and/or manipulations. Basic
screen caps do not qualify. Nomination may be made by graphic name, or
picture description, but a webpage must be included.
Best Webpage - This category is for personal pages. Any Due South dedicated
webpage qualifies as long as it archives fewer than 5 authors/artists.
Nominate using web address. Providing email of creator is ONLY optional if
the webpage includes contact information.
Best Story - May include stories in any category, any rating.
Best Series - For groupings of fics or poems with two or more in the series.
Best Drama - Story should be mainly dramatic. Mysteries and action
adventure may be nominated in this category as well.
Best Romance - Any romantically oriented story.
Best 'First Time' - First Time is here defined as the getting together of
any two main characters in a romantic pairing for the first time.
Best Humor - Anything that made you laugh.
Best Alternative Universe - Any story which takes place in an Alternative
Universe.
Best Crossover - Any story which crosses over in either storyline or
characters with another fandom.
Best Short - Nominate Poems, Drabbles, Songs, PWP's here.
Best Holiday - Any holiday related fic. Remember, there are a lot of
holidays!
Best Fraser - Any fic revolving mainly around Constable Benton Fraser.
Best Ray Vecchio - Any fic revolving mainly around Detective Raymond
Vecchio.
Best Ray Kowalski - Any fic revolving mainly around Detective Stanley
Raymond Kowalski.
Best Meg Thatcher - Any fic revolving mainly around Inspector Margaret
Thatcher.
Best Francesca Vecchio - Any fic revolving mainly around Francesca Vecchio.
Best Other Recurring Character- Any fic revolving mainly around Turnbull, A
duck boy, Welsh, Elaine, etc.
Best Guest Character - Any fic revolving mainly around a character who
appears on DS in fewer than three episodes. (Victoria, Gerard, Maggie,
etc.)
Best Original Character - Any fic revolving mainly around a character
created by the author.
Best G - PG-13 - Any fic rated G, PG, or PG-13.
Best R - NC-17 - Any R or NC-17 fic.
Best Zine Anthology - Zines containing several authors published in either
2001 or 2002 qualify. This is the only category where Zines may be
nominated. Please include some sort of contact information for either the
publisher or the author of the zine you nominate.
Best Zine Novel/Novella -Zines containing one complete story published in
either 2001 or 2002 qualify. This is the only category where Zines may be
nominated. Please include some sort of contact information for either the
publisher or the author of the zine you nominate.

-Please select LINK to link to us or TELL A FRIEND to send an auto-email to
someone you know (or to the lists on which you belong)

-Voting Notes: At the time voting is announced, all information regarding
fairness and counting will be provided. Precautions will be taken to ensure
the most fair processes.

-Any nominations made for Snowee will be removed before voting. In the
interest of fairness, my fic will not qualify for nominations. Thank you!
