Facebook
My cute kitty and puppy are probably dead. My Haiku Zoo pet is neglected. I have a couple dozen FarmTown requests to approve even though I don't play it. I am out of fun food and pillows to throw and I'm tired of trying to find fun combinations of water pistols and fluid to shoot at people.
What has become of Facebook? What started out as fun has now become a chore.
Legal Resentment
My siblings and I have become involved with a lawsuit my mom is pursuing. We're supportive of the cause and all, but now the legal paperwork comes in. On the first paperwork it was NOT clear whether the money to pay for experts would be paid by the legal counsel or by my mother. I brought this up and Mom says she understood it that it would be paid by the lawyers. I said she should know for sure because I watch way too much Discovery Channel and know expert witnesses can be hella expensive. Instead of checking, she tells all my siblings that this is the case so they all gang up on me like I'm stupid and say it's fine. Worse than that, two of them start trying to explain something else in the letter all together as though I've misunderstood something else about the lawsuit. They thought this was a question because someone else asked ME what it meant and I explained to HER and then I became the one who didn't understand.
But it was fine and I didn't say anything until last night. Last night we had a family meeting to discuss something in a new batch of letters sent out by the lawyers requiring us to put in writing what our intentions are if there are any monies recovered. Three of us said Mom should get 100%. One said %90 to her and divide the other 10%. Word is the rest agree with the 100%, but I was only witness to the two others besides myself which I'm counting.
Well, first off we get there and they've split the money completely differently. I said I thought we had all agreed Mom should get it all. They immediately gang up and say they don't know if we can do that. I read the paperwork. Nothing says we can't. Well, then they start explaining to me the difference between an estate suit and the wrongful death suit. I did not ask for this. I already knew. For some reason someone felt I needed to be told like I'm a fucking stupid child! I SO fucking resent it. Three of my siblings always think I don't understand, but you know something? I probably know more about the nuances of words than the three of them combined so FUCK them. ARGH!! It made me SO mad.
It didn't help that when we decided to get together, my niece and her husband (of one week, no less) and my brother's new girlfriend (soon to be fiance, I have no doubt) STAYED in the room!! They should have left! They should have been asked to leave! We have always decided as a family that in-laws and grandchildren do not and will not make decisions. It is siblings and parents ONLY. I resent them sitting in. The sister-in-law who likes to be a part of EVERYTHING had the manners to leave and yet no one said anything to the others... I was about to, but I made my comment about Mom getting any money if awarded and everyone jumped on me so I didn't feel like saying anything else.
This is what it's like to be the youngest of 7 kids, by the way - if you've ever wondered.
Shakespeare
At the Utah Shakespearean festival this year they're doing The Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged). I WANT TO GO!!! If you haven't seen it, check your library for a copy. SO worth it!!!
Next year, they've just announced, will be a spoof on Hitchcock {dies} If I don't go to that one, you might as well kill me! Life will not be worth living!
Lately
*Avon - been out prospecting for new customers so I can afford things I want...like a pedi I'm getting this week
*car broke down, took every penny we had for 2 weeks to fix
*had to get new cell phones because our wireless service is changing in October and we've put it off since February
*feeling stress about hubby's lack of new job
*Victoria was in a parade
*Independence Day activities
*Swimming classes
*watching musicals on Sundays and sometimes Wednesday
*invited to concert last minute. They were good, but they have original stuff and won't play it. they say they don't because people want to hear things they know so they did covers for half an hour. Uh, actually, if I go see a local band I WANT to hear THEIR stuff. Besides, they covered songs I mostly dislike. Who doesn't like Journey? Well, me. Who doesn't like Hotel California? Well, me... I won't list them all.
*sprinklers broke so as soon as we had money again, I had to go spend it on a new hose and some wasp traps (not related to sprinklers, I suppose, but still necessary). Still not fixed. Rained a lot so okay at first, but now lawn is starting to die.
*hot. The rain was nice and staved off the heat much further into summer than usual, but today my house is 84 degrees. {cries} I want air conditioning SO BADLY! My sister loaned me a stand alone AC unit which I used last year. My power bill doubled, but the heat in my house remained the same. I told her and my mom that I wouldn't use it this year and I specified I could afford the higher cost, but it's not worth it if my house is still well overf 80 degreed, right? Proof that NO ONE LISTENS: Mom said "if you switch to A/C it will cost more" and sister says "at least it helped." Where they got that out of what I said i beyond me. I specifically said it DID NOT help and I said I could afford it, but I wasn't going to spend it if it DID NOT help... WTF!? Do I speak another fucking language?
*Want to write; don't have time.
