For those with a special sense of humor:
Dec. 23rd, 2004 03:34 pmMy hubby got a message to call a customer back.
Customer: "Can I use my deceased mother's ATM card to pay my bill?"
Husband: {thinks} If the card or the card-holder has expired, the card is not valid.
{says} "Sir, I don't think you should try to use that card as it is a federal offense."
The next day when he told me about it, I thought of the fact that my grandfather, who has been dead 7 years last August, has just received a pre-approved credit card notice from the bank where his account were when he was alive. You know - the bank that has a copy of his death certificate on file to explain why his account was closed?
So, I said: "Well, I believe in life after death. I mean, apparently you can still be approved for credit."
Along those lines, the mortuary who buried my grandfather sent notices to his last address (my mother's house) for two years after his death asking if he wanted to participate in their discounts. She called them each time and told them "Look, you buried him!" but it still took 2 years for it to stop.
Gotta love it.
Saw neices A and J today. They'll have to recover, but they're okay - they said they were told no permanent damage. Good news.
