Peace & quiet
Oct. 9th, 2004 05:54 pmMy wonderful sister in law Hubby's sister, not bro's wife who is usually mentioned here) has taken Toria for the night. Ahhhhhhhh
It's not that mother's don't love their kids to death, but it's also not like we would shrivel up and disappear without our kids, right? I mean, there are a million things I could do.
I'm hopeful that I'll get some writing done tonight (although ever since I took down my noose-hanging bunnies, I've been lacking in that department. Hmm) but I'll probably end up watching Notorious. This October I'm looking to Hitchcock for inspiration, you see. Rebecca was awesome. I hadn't seen that one before. I'm rewatching some of my faves, but also throwing in a few I've never seen before.
Speaking of Hitchcock; stupid things people say:
1) It's nothing like other Hitchcock. It's more humour.
Well, I suppose if your idea of Hitchcockian consists only of "The Birds" and "Psycho", this might be true. Rent "The Trouble With Harry" sometime, okay?
2) I've never seen much romance in Hitchcock so it surprised me.
Then you should rent, I don't know, half of his movies!? "Rebecca"!? "To Catch A Thief"!? I mean, really!
I'm sorry. I just had to vent that because I was reading these comments about films he did that I hadn't seen and thought the people were imbeciles to make those kinds of comments. I saw it a lot, actually - references to him not being funny were pretty common. Never seen "Alfred Hitchcock presents", I take it. Geez. Don't act like you know all about Hitchcock if you've only seen his horror flicks, okay?
