If anyone has comments/recommendations for a car (probably used as it's going to have to come in under a $10,000 budget) now's your chance. I've done a lot of research on vehicles, but sometimes what one needs is just a word from a real live person.
Relevant comments: Have you had to get a preschooler in and out of it? How safe did you feel in it? Is it roomy? (my hubby is quite tall, a limitation on several sportier models) Did you find it reliable? Did everything inside (cupholders, dash covers, etc) take abuse or did they break the third time you drove it?
I know many of my friends aren't even in the US and several who are don't drive, but just in case someone has input, I could use it. Thanks!
