Welcome to Utah

Most of Utah is currently divided in the newspaper world. There are several papers, but the two main ones are conservative and liberal. (I use liberal loosely. In Utah nearly everything is conservative.) I knew there was a reason I avoided reading the local conservative paper usually, but I was at Mom's and bored and had just finished the Dave Barry column facing the opinions section.

Fuckers

No ma'am. What's inexcusable is narrowmindedly calling homosexuals molestors. Dammit. Now I'm up at 4am writing editorials to the newspaper.

As long as I'm here and on the subject, might as well plug this. I'm horrid when it comes to current events, but if you like to know what's going on, this is a good way to read the articles from a viewpoint I can pretty much guarantee your local paper doesn't take...

Welcome to Utah - the sequel

I really really should have waited until I was awake and certain I said all I wanted to say, but I just sent off my own editorial. I wouldn't dream of doing an editorial on a normal basis because I don't want to look stupid, but when the desire to write the editorial won't let me dream, I guess I gotta do what I gotta do.

My response )

DAMMIT! And now I just read it to hubby and he pointed out a couple things I ought to have mentioned. Fuck me. Oh well.

Thank you kindly, Deseret News

Well, I knew it was too soon for my editorial to get published, but I thought I'd check out today's headlines and opinions anyway. Thought this was interesting and it made me grin. The third headline of the day
